An important aspect of the studio’s involvement with the community is Whale & Star Press, which has published books in art, poetry, art practice and critical theory through five different series. Artists and Writers series is devoted to offering readers the best of world literature, art and poetry. Each beautiful and affordable edition brings together an introduction to works of influential writers and artists. Working Book series publishes concise and accessible books in a wide range of subjects related to the ideas and practical concerns that interest artists, writers and their admirers and scholars. Monographs series carefully examines artists and their process. Each book includes carefully selected illustrations and original texts by significant contemporary writers and art historians. Whale series consists of special publishing projects and collaborative projects with other institutions. Editions are limited edition book releases. These books and limited editions are found in bookstores, libraries, schools, universities and museums throughout the world and are distributed nationally and internationally by the University of Nebraska Press.
